we needed a dining room table. SERIOUSLY! We wanted a farmhouse table, but couldn't afford to buy one when we bought our first house in Bristol, CT. Our house needed a lot of work both inside and out so we knew a brand new farmhouse table just wouldn't fit in the budget.
Mike decided to look up some building plans online (this is when he discovered Ana White!) and started constructing our very first table. Mike built the table and I (Katie) stained the tabletop our favorite dark walnut stain and painted the legs our favorite antique white.
Once we were done, people started asking us where we got our table. They eventually started asking if we could build more, and so began our idea to start a business. We created our name "krick + kate" because Mike's nickname is "krick" and Mike has always called me "kate" for short. The name just stuck! Since we started growing, we have also started to build our collection of goods. Now, we not only make farmhouse tables, but we make coffee tables, accent tables, ladders, growth charts, dartboard backings, flower boxes, and really anything you could think of! Show us your inspiration and we'll make it. The possibilities are endless!
