Some years ago, my wife and I were trying to decide where to have our wedding ceremony. We tossed around the idea of having casual, food truck-style service at a farm or winery, but since I come from a bar background, I needed the drinks to be special and I didn’t want the bar to feel like an afterthought. We ended up scrapping the farm idea and had a blissful wedding on the beach. But that started the wheels turning, so to speak.
In the 80’s my father owned a shop that focused on old VW’s and my grandfather had an orange VW Bus that, around the same time, sat in his driveway. I thought Since anyone who was alive in the 70’s or early 80’s probably has a story about a VW Bus, why not bring my passion for drinks on the road and hear some of those stories?
