Listerine Teaming with the Tooth Fairy (Wink) Polke Family Challenge

Craziness! That’s what my kids say when they have to do their daily routine of brushing their teeth.  I teamed up with Listerine and learned the importance of teaching my kids the proper way of brushing and how Gum disease is becoming a huge problem kids are facing and these problems can lead to other health issues. So I was willing to take the Listerine challenge with my kids. So off to the store I went to purchase a chart I could create with all 3 of my kids names as well as a timer I could leave on their bathroom counter.

They were actually excited to receive new rinse flavors and new brushes to get them started on their challenge. I have to say, “Thank You” Listerine for sending a box of goodies for my kids to try.  This was a great kick off to this month-long challenge. I thought it was going to be  struggle but it actually started out without a hitch.

I really think the chart helped because I created a star reward, for every 10 stars they can pick a prize. My kids are good brushers but now that they have a time allotted to them it’s a little more difficult because they were used to brushing quick, rinsing I am noticing a big difference with the timer. I also find too that it gives me more time to talk to them about their day. Some of their answers I don’t understand due to the rinse or toothpaste in their mouth but I do my best to have BIG ears…

I will be following back up with all of you with Pictures and more information about Listerine’s products that we were able to test. I will let you all know my kids favorite flavors…New post coming next week so stay tuned…

#sweetsmart So far so good!

Disclosure: Listerine provided product for my family to test and at no time will this create a false post, these are all my own words and reviews.

Libby’s Teams up with Brandi Chastain

What an amazing event I was able to attend last Saturday. I have to say, meeting Brandi Chastain was the highlight of my year thus far. I learned a lot about her, besides her love for the game of soccer. She is passionate about Family and making time for family even if you have crazy schedules. I learned  about Libby’s and why they chose Brandi to be their spokesperson. I love that Libby’s had a strong belief that family comes first and  when we are running in several directions we can still have time to give our kids healthy choices, and the convenient fruit cups that Libby’s now offers creates just that (I love the Pears and Peaches).

Brandi Chastain gave a beautiful speech last Saturday that gave me goose bumps. She had stated “that no matter what struggles we go through in life that  there is always light at the end of the tunnel and that we will have failures but they will soon end in VICTORY”! I looked at my daughters who I brought with me to experience this venture to meet an incredible  athlete and a person who in her career made a bad pass that let to a  goal against her by China, was able to listen to her captain and be told it’s OK, we will win and she will be the one to make it happen and she sure was…INCREDIBLE! My daughters learned a lot that day. Libby’s handed out a $5,000 check to the East Hartford Soccer Club and my daughters who both are soccer players learned that life isn’t always about the win…It’s about focus and doing your best and that in the end your best will pay off. Thank you Brandi and Thank You Libby’s for creating quality products for my family and choosing a spokesperson with amazing qualities herself that she can share with many young people who have the pleasure of meeting her…

Libby’s Fruit cups and soccer mom Brandi Chastain are a great duo…

I have to share with you some information about a product I just received. I was contacted to try Libby’s single serve fruit cups I was up for the challenge…I always think fresh or frozen fruits when shopping or t a local market so this was something I was on the fence but I then took the time to read the ingredients. Natural,No Corn Syrup or xtra sugar added. I decided to dive in…Living in the NorthEast Fruits start to die down and if you live here you know we have apples, apples and more apples…I find anything that comes from other countries and travels many miles just doesn’t seem as fresh as they do when in season Locally. So I began to decide which fruit cup to try first should I pick Mixed fruit, diced Peaches,Cherry mixed fruit, Hmmm diced pears were my first choice, after peeling the lid I could tell I was in for a treat… OH MY! the flavor was delish and it truly had a fresh taste and not too sweet.

CONVENIENCE  is the first thing that popped in my head after trying it. I am a mom of 3 kids and we are always on the go.  Most days we have 3 sometimes 4 soccer games having these single snacks are a perfect balance for them. My oldest daughter (13) has Type 1 Diabetes and anyone who knows about diabetes knows that we base everything on Carbs and these single serving cups are a little high in carbs 39g for a small serving after looking closely the sugar count is  27g for 6 oz some might say high, but when eating it not too sweet (just remember to Bolus). I would give these 4 stars out of 5

Now comes the tie in with Brandi Chastain do you remember her?  She is the famous and talented  professional female soccer player from the 1999 World Cup games. This photo is my favorite and if you never saw this game please research on-line and watch it truly amazing one word (Goose Bumps).

Brandi and Libby’s Fruit have partnered up to promote healthy snacking and an active lifestyle for kids. Brandi has put together 5 tips that she is sharing across the country at many different events. I guess this would make her the ultimate soccer mom!

I will be meeting Brandi this Saturday and will be tweeting about my time with her LIVE.   I can’t wait to talk with her and hear all about her soccer journeys. Don’t worry I will  share photos of the event along with my experience. I will be doing a GIVEAWAY so keep a look out early next week.
